Who may be Confirmed?
In the Archdiocese of Seattle, the Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred on baptized Catholics aged 16 or older. Catholics over 16 who wish to be Confirmed are expected to participate in Mass regularly and complete the parish's preparation program. A Confirmation retreat is a required part of the program. We are privileged to have the Bishop celebrate Confirmation with us once each year.
Sponsors
The Church requires a sponsor for a Confirmation candidate to be a practicing and Confirmed Catholic who is at least 16 years of age. Sponsors from another Catholic parish are asked to have their parish verify this information for us. Candidates for Confirmation should have at least one sponsor participate in Confirmation preparation with them.
Confirmation of Youth
Confirmation preparation for those 16-18 years old is parish based and customarily offered each year. Preparation for youth include participation in Senior High Youth Group or Youth Outreach, and regular Mass attendance.
Candidates need to be registered and active parishioners, who have already celebrated the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, and Eucharist prior to preparation for Confirmation. Persons still needing those sacraments are directed to participate in the RCIA. (LINK TO RCIA)

Confirmation of Adults
Baptized Catholic adults who wish to be Confirmed prepare for the sacrament through the parish program. Adult preparation is separate from the youth program. Candidates for Confirmation need to be registered and active parishioners.
The Pastor must verify proper preparation prior to all Confirmations.
