Infant Baptism: We look forward to welcoming your children (age seven and younger) into the Christian community through the Sacrament of Baptism. At least one parent must be an active Catholic. Parent and Godparent preparation classes consist of two 2-hour evenings. Baptisms are celebrated in the community during our weekend Masses.

First Reconciliation: This is a study program for preparation for First Reconciliation for children who have been in Faith Formation for at least one year and who are in 2nd grade, approximately age 7. It involves a large group meeting for parents in September and large group meeting for parents and children in October. Materials will be distributed in the September group meeting to begin at-home study. The at-home study is in addition to weekly Faith Formation classes at church. Registration forms are available on the website (below) or in the Church (back wall under 'Sacraments').
In compliance with guidelines from the Archdiocese of Seattle, all children who expect to receive First Communion in 2010 must participate in this program, whether or not they receive the Sacrament, before being accepted into preparation for First Communion.

First Communion: Preparation for children who would like to receive their First Communion will begin in February 2010. To be eligible, children must be 7 years old or older, been enrolled in Faith Formation during the previous year as well as this year, have been catechized and/or received their First Reconciliation. Registration forms are available on the website (below) or in the Church (back wall under 'Sacraments').
*** Mandatory Meeting! *** For those students who have completed First Reconciliation preparation and are enrolled in Breathe, we begin preparation for First Communion on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 pm! Parents and children should attend this mandatory meeting. If you need child care for siblings, please contact the parish office. The Sacrament of First Communion will be celebrated on Saturday, April 17, 2010.To register your child for First Communion, please complete the request form.

Confirmation for Youth: The program for Confirmation is offered annually. Registration opens in September. There are two components. One is remote preparation which consists of regular attendance at Senior High Youth Group and/or Youth Outreach. One is proximate preparation which consists of mandatory attendance at classes offered Sunday afternoons beginning in January and continue through May. To be eligible, students must be 16-18 years old or a junior in high school, have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation and Communion.

Confirmation for Adults: We offer a six-week class for adult Catholics who have received their First Communion, but have not been confirmed. These adults are confirmed by the Bishop or Archbishop along with the teens in the spring of the year.

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults and Children (RCIA): Our mission is to welcome people of other faiths, and un-baptized persons who wish to join our faith community, worshipping God in the Catholic tradition. Catholics who were baptized as infants, but have no other experience in the Catholic Church are also prepared for the sacraments through this process. Children (age 7 and over) and teens, who are not baptized or are baptized but uncatechized, also participate in the RCIA adapted for children.
The year-long initiation process includes: initial inquiry sessions, introduction to the assembly of parishioners; faith sharing and weekly sessions; sponsor support; acquaintance with Church ministries; celebration, prayer and discernment; initiation through Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist. We welcome parishioners to become sponsors for our candidates.

Sacraments for the Sick or Housebound: If you, any member of your family, or anyone you know is ill or hospitalized, please notify Theres at (253) 875-1232 or Maria at (253) 445-2476 to receive the Sacrament of Healing and the Eucharist.

Marriage: In order for us to attend to your interest in celebrating the Sacrament of Matrimony, and in order that all necessary requirements of Canon Law are in compliance, please take note of the following guidelines:
- Call the parish office (253) 875-6630 at least 6 (six) months in advance of the date you wish to celebrate your marriage. Request an appointment to meet with the Pastor or Pastoral Associate for the preliminary orientation. Please have any required documents (see below) ready at the time of your appointment.
- You will need to present a recently issued copy of Baptismal Certificates for both parties. This includes Baptisms celebrated in a non-Catholic rite.
- You may also be required to present a copy of First Communion and Confirmation Certificates when the Pastor deems it necessary to review these documents. A photocopy from the original certificates is acceptable.
- If the applicants are already civilly married (by Court), a copy of the Marriage License is required.
- If there have been any previous marriages, a copy of the Dissolution of Marriage by the Court (divorce papers) and a copy of Annulment Papers from a Diocesan Tribunal are required.
- One witness for each applicant, preferable a family member, will be asked to present themselves to the Pastor for the Pre-Nuptual interview.
- Provided both parties requesting the Sacrament of Matrimony are in agreement, a non-Catholic person is not an impediment for the Sacrament of Matrimony to be celebrated at Holy Disciples Parish.
- When applicants have secured all the required documents, call the parish Office and request an appointment with the Pastor or the Pastoral Associate for the Pre-Nuptual interviews. It is important that both applicants are interviewed on the same day. Interviews for the witnesses need not be conducted on the same day as the applicants.
- The applicants for the Sacrament of Matrimony will be required to attend a "Weekend Engaged Encounter Retreat" sponsored by the Archdiocese of Seattle.
- The date of the wedding ceremony can only be scheduled after the Pre-Nuptual interviews are completed. Please DO NOT MAKE ANY COMMITMENTS with a hotel or banquet hall for the wedding reception or print invitations UNTIL the Pre-Nuptual interview is held and the Pastor or the Pastoral Associate indicates that the process of marriage preparation is in order.
